Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Finance Partner to progress their career and help support technology and project delivery. This is a senior role that owns the financial governance and supports technology and delivery of key projects. You will work closely with the business unit and project delivery team to provide financial and commercial insights, supporting commercial decisions and driving performance.

What are the key day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?

  • Development and delivery of accurate management reporting on the performance of the business units against plan and forecast. This will require close collaboration with other Finance Partners to align reporting and planning.
  • Generation of accurate short and long-term financial forecasts for the business units.
  • Lead business case process, providing advice and guidance and validating assumptions; and having regard for the wider financial implications, risks and enterprise impacts.
  • Working with members of the relevant business unit to provide specific insights and assistance in achieving the financial goals of their individual teams, including education on financial principles.
  • Challenging stakeholders when needed on the performance and management of the technology business unit.

In this role you will be helping the bank deliver a transformation project that crosses various business units and disciplines. It is a complex role with high visibility, so will give you exposure across the rest of the enterprise and will be a great growth opportunity.

This is an opportunity for a curious, commercial finance professional to work closely with specific business unit leadership teams and other key business stakeholders, providing insights and analytics to support the achievement of financial goals. You'll help drive commercial decisions on how we manage, deliver, and create value.

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

You'll have a strong financial background and experience within a similar role, giving you a sound understanding of financial management policies and methodologies. Finance experience within a technology organisation would be an advantage, otherwise you'll have some exposure or experience within the industry, giving you an understanding of technology and what drives commercial decisions in this sector.

You'll demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills, this is essential in order to develop strong relationships, you'll be involved in challenging conversations and influence senior stakeholders in order to deliver the common goal. You will be comfortable presenting information to senior stakeholders, getting across the detail as well as being able to present the information in a concise and meaningful way to drive outcomes and decisions. You'll be results focused, curious & commercially astute, holding you in good stead to act as an intermediary with regard to financial decision making.
